ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A man was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by intelligence operatives of the Capiz Police Provincial Office in Barangay Culasi here.
The operation was led by Police Lt. Fantilaga under the supervision of Police Lt. Col. Rogelio Tomagtang Jr., newly installed chief of the Roxas Component City Police Station.
The operation was carried out around 5:39 p.m. May 8.
Police identified the suspect as Anthony Francisco, of legal age and a resident of Barangay V, Roxas City.
Recovered from the suspect were a .38-caliber revolver without a serial number, two cartridges for the same caliber of firearm, a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu weighing 13 grams with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 81,600, and PHP 3,000 in boodle money.
The suspect is under the custody of the Roxas Component City Police Station while charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against him.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old woman was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Roxas City police at Sitio Cassandra in Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City.
Police identified the suspect as Vergery Lara, a resident of the area and listed as a street-level individual.
Recovered from the suspect were five sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP 6,400.
She is under the custody of the Roxas City police and will be charged with violation of RA 9165.
