A 51-year-old man was arrested over accusations that he killed his younger brother last year.
Rene Agsaluna was collared at his home in Barangay Tuble, San Dionisio, Iloilo around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.
Joint elements of San Dionisio Police Station and the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company apprehended Agsaluna by virtue of an arrest warrant for homicide in Criminal Case No. 2022-6772.
Judge Jose Mauricio Gomez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 71 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo issued the warrant on February 22, 2021.
A P120,000 bail was recommended for his temporary freedom.
Agsaluna also yielded a caliber .45 pistol (serial number 15478) with magazine loaded with 6 ammunition.
Agsaluna was accused of killing his 42-year-old brother Sandy Agsaluna on August 21, 2020 at Tuble village.
A short verbal tussle occurred before the suspect allegedly shot the victim using a 12-gauge shotgun. He fled after the incident.
With his arrest on Wednesday, Agsaluna would also be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
