ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 25-year-old man was arrested by police for allegedly selling dried marijuana leaves Sunday morning at Barangay Rosario in Pilar, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as Alvin Bismanos of said place.
Recovered from Bismanos were six suspected sachets of marijuana leaves and the P500 marked money.
The suspect is presently detained at the Pilar Municipal Police Station while charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him.
Meanwhile, the police failed to arrest the persons that engaged in illegal cockfighting or tupada Sunday afternoon at Sitio Ilaya, Barangay Banga-an, Panitan, Capiz.
Punong Barangay Efren Dangan of Brgy. Bangaan informed the Panitan police of the cockfight.
When the police arrived, the suspects were already gone.
The police recovered from the area six live cocks and other cockfighting paraphernalia.
