ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 52-year-old individual is set to be charged after being caught selling petroleum products to an undercover agent on Sunday afternoon, March 17, in Pontevedra, Capiz.
Gilbert Antatico from Brgy. Nilampongan in Pontevedra town was taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-Capiz) during an entrapment operation conducted at Sitio Baybay, Brgy. Ilawod in Pontevedra.
Authorities confiscated approximately 800 liters of crude oil and gasoline from Antatico. Reports from CIDG-Capiz reveal that their undercover officer purchased a gallon of crude oil, amounting to 20 liters, from the suspect. Additionally, the operation yielded 30 gallons of diesel, 20 containers of gasoline, and P1,200 in marked money used in the sting operation.
Antatico now faces legal proceedings for the contravention of Presidential Decree No. 1865, which prohibits the sale of illicit petroleum products. He is currently in the custody of CIDG-Capiz.
