ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 29-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, April 17, for the illegal possession of a firearm in Sitio Railway, Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City, and was formally charged on the morning of Thursday, April 18.
Mark Delco, a resident of the aforementioned village, is facing charges under Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, as filed by the police with the City Prosecutor’s Office.
Police recovered a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing three live rounds from Delco.
The arrest was made pursuant to a search warrant issued by Judge Esperanza Isabel Poco-Delate of the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 19, Roxas City on April 16, 2024.
Delco was unable to provide legal documentation for the firearm in question.
A tip from a concerned citizen led to the police operation.
Delco is currently detained at the Roxas Component City Police Station.
