BACOLOD CITY – Murder charges were filed Tuesday against a 25-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his 44-year-old uncle to death at a boarding house in Barangay Sum-ag on Monday.
Police Capt. Andy Ofalia, head of Police Station 9, said a criminal complaint was filed Tuesday noon in connection with the killing of a man identified only as “Mabini.”
Ofalia said the victim was sitting inside his boarding house when his nephew suddenly attacked him following a misunderstanding.
The victim was declared dead at a hospital.
The suspect was arrested by responding police officers.
Ofalia said the two had no known conflict, but police suspect the incident may be linked to the suspect’s possible involvement in vices that triggered his violent behavior.
