Man arrested for alleged Roxas City arson attempt

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 53-year-old man was arrested after allegedly trying to set a neighbor’s house on fire in Sitio Tulay, Barangay Dayao, Roxas City, early Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026.
Police identified the suspect as alias “JV,” a tricycle driver and resident of the area.
A neighbor reported him to police at about 3 a.m. for allegedly creating an alarm and disturbance while under the influence of alcohol.
Personnel from the Roxas Component City Police Station, with members of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team, responded and arrested the suspect at his house.
He remains in police custody, and authorities said they will file charges of alarm and scandal.
