ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The 38-year-old man who allegedly killed his lady cousin in Brgy. Culajao here is facing a rape charge as well.
National Police Clearance System (NPCS) database indicated that Salvador Pin of Barangay Tanza Norte, Panay, Capiz has a pending warrant of arrest for rape in Criminal Case No. FC A-2088.
Regional Trial Court Judge Ethelwolda A. Jaravata of Branch 32, Agoo, La Union issued the warrant on May 26, 2018.
Pin is accused of killing his cousin Ronalyn Buñi out of jealousy. It was later learned that the two had a romantic relationship.
The victim’s father Romulo said he had no idea that Ronalyn had an intimate relationship with her cousin.
The father said he advised his daughter to stay away from Pin because they both have families of their own and that their relationship will not look good to other people.
Meanwhile, the Roxas City Police Station said the case is closed after Pin voluntarily surrendered and admitted to the crime.
Pin allegedly strangled and smothered Ronalyn to death using a rope and a pillow.
The suspect then went to the church and asked forgiveness before giving himself up to the police station.
Pin said that he was carried away by his anger after the victim received a male caller in her cellphone.
He asked Ronalyn who the caller was, but the victim ignored him. That triggered him to kill the victim.
Pin also admitted that he had a relationship with the victim since 2018 which they kept secret from their respective families.
The two were not married with their respective spouses.
