A 61-year-old man did not survive after he got drowned while swimming in the waters off Barangay Maria Clara, City Proper, Iloilo City.
Boarders at a nearby accommodation were able to film Henry Original prior to him getting drowned.
The victim from Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala 2, City Proper, seems to be displaying his swimming prowess by doing backstrokes.
But it didn’t take long for his spectators to see that Original wasn’t able to surface.
They immediately sought assistance from members of the Philippine Coast Guard who were roving in the area.
Original was immediately fished out from the waters and brought to Iloilo Saint Paul’s Hospital.
However, he was declared dead on arrival.
He was not immediately identified as he was in shorts and had no identification on him.
Hours later, his family reached out to Iloilo City Police Station 1 and confirmed that the man who died was their kin.
