Filipino boxer and rising star Giemel Magramo is all eyes on the prize after his bout against undefeated Junto Nakatani was finalized on August 1.
Twice canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Magramo and Nakatani will be slugging it out for the vacant WBO flyweight belt.
Unfazed and determined despite fighting in a hostile crowd Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Magramo said that he considers the Japanese crowd a non-factor for him.
Originally slated on April 4 and rescheduled on June 6, the clash for the flyweight belt will finally go down on August 1 after the Japanese Embassy announced the resumption of their visa issuance.
Meanwhile, Sen. Manny Pacquiao previously expressed his support to Magramo whose dad was Pacquiao’s former nemesis when he was just building up his name in the world of boxing.
“Wish him all the best and may God bless him and give him strength and protection as he is going to fight. May the good Lord give him extraordinary skill during the battle in Jesus’ name,” said Pacquaio to Magramo.
