The Magnolia Hotshots showed no signs of fatigue after winning the second game of their back-to-back inside the PBA bubble by downing Terrafirma Dyip, 103-89.
Paul Lee and company came fresh off a statement win over the number-one seeded TNT Tropang Giga and continued their brilliant offensive display after putting on a clinic against Terrafirma.
Coach Chito Victolero’s guard-combinations on the floor seemed to bother CJ Perez and his pals after giving up numerous breakaway layups for Magnolia off turnovers.
The game started to slip away from Terrafirma at the start of the third when Lee, Rome Dela Rosa, and Ian Sangalang combined for an 11-0 run that gave them the much-needed momentum until the fourth.
In the last two minutes of the third, Magnolia again went on a scoring surge and scored another 11-straight points to enter the final frame leading 76-60.
Lee capped-off their statement win with 29 points on 5 of 8 shooting from downtown and helped improve Magnolia’s record to 4-4.
“Actually, hirap kami nung first half. It’s a very hard game last night and ‘yun ang worry namin, how to recover ‘yung legs. Sabi ko sa mga players, we will try to rest tonight (Wednesday), ang importante lang makuha namin ‘yung very important game na ‘to,” said Magnolia head coach Victolero.
