MOISES PADILLA, Negros Occidental — Residents of Barangay Macagahay, an upland barangay in this municipality, can now benefit from a new multi-purpose building and an upgraded day care center.
These two infrastructure projects were blessed and turned over to barangay officials recently.
The event was led by 5th District Rep. Dino Yulo, Board Member Hadji Trojillo, Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo, and Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Segundo “Pimpoy” Yulo III, together with members of the Sangguniang Bayan and barangay officials headed by Punong Barangay Bernabe Eustanio.
The blessing of the new facilities was officiated by Rev. Fr. Joven Santistiban.
The newly constructed one-story multi-purpose building, measuring 12 by 12 meters, was funded through the office of Rep. Yulo at a cost of PHP 4.9 million.
The project aims to serve as a venue for community activities, meetings, and public services.
Meanwhile, the improvement of the Child Development Center amounted to PHP 657,000, financed through the municipal government’s local funds.
The enhancement is expected to provide a safer and more conducive learning environment for young children in the barangay.
Local leaders said the completion of both projects highlights the importance of partnership among government officials in addressing community needs.
“This unified effort by Congressman Dino Yulo, Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo, and Vice Mayor Pimpoy Yulo reflects their shared commitment to work together across levels of government for the continued development of Barangay Macagahay and the entire municipality,” the statement added.
