M/V Alioth begins maiden voyage from Subic

Global Maritime Ship Management Inc. owner Capt. Relly Nufable Jose Jr. leads the company into a new chapter with the launch of M/V Alioth.
Rain swept across Subic as M/V Alioth, newly refurbished and prepared for commercial service, received a ceremonial blessing before beginning its first voyage under Global Maritime Ship Management Inc.
The departure marked a defining milestone for the Subic, Zambales-based company, which celebrated the launch of its first managed vessel alongside officers, crew members, industry partners, and supporters.
Leading the occasion was GMSMI owner Capt. Relly Nufable Jose Jr., whose team personally supervised the vessel’s rehabilitation, maintenance, and preparations for sailing.
More than a corporate achievement, the launch reflected the company’s confidence in Filipino maritime professionals and their ability to operate vessels according to demanding international standards.
M/V Alioth is manned by Filipino seafarers trained by GMSMI, placing skilled manpower at the center of the company’s expanding maritime operations.
Jose said the vessel’s first commercial voyage was made possible by the resilience, personal commitment, professionalism, and unwavering support of the people behind the project.
His message shifted the spotlight from the vessel itself to the team that restored it, prepared it for service, and accepted responsibility for its safe and efficient operation.
For GMSMI, the occasion also represented the culmination of months of planning, technical work, regulatory coordination, and crew preparation.
The vessel’s transformation demanded close attention to maintenance and operational readiness, with Jose remaining personally involved throughout the process.
Capt. Alex, who commands M/V Alioth, likewise emphasized the importance of the people entrusted with a ship after an owner makes the initial investment.
He noted that skilled maritime personnel ultimately turn vessels into successful operations through discipline, competence, and sound judgment at sea.
That belief shaped the tone of the inauguration, which honored not only the company’s leadership but also the seafarers who will carry its name into international waters.
Jose has previously been recognized for his business leadership and influence, distinctions that have underscored his work as an executive and maritime entrepreneur.
The launch of M/V Alioth now gives that leadership a tangible expression—a working vessel, a trained Filipino crew, and a company prepared to establish its presence in the global shipping industry.
For the seafarers on board, the voyage also opened a new professional chapter built on trust, shared responsibility, and the enduring Filipino tradition of maritime excellence.
As the ship moved away from the Subic coastline, the gray skies did little to diminish the significance of the moment.
M/V Alioth sailed not simply as GMSMI’s first vessel, but as a symbol of what determined leadership, technical expertise, and a capable Filipino crew can set in motion.
