The Land Transportation Office Region 6 (LTO-6) generated at least PHP1.797 million in bids during the first public auction of impounded motor vehicles on June 24, 2025, at the LTO Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (MVIC).
The auction, organized by the LTO-6 Regional Special Committee on Appraisal, Evaluation and Auction of Impounded Motor Vehicles, featured 19 lots of abandoned units including vans, motorcycles, utility vehicles, buses, jeepneys and a sedan.
Four lots were successfully awarded to the highest bidders.
The activity complies with Section 1 of Presidential Decree No. 1729, which authorizes the public auction of motor vehicles unclaimed for more than six months due to unpaid fines and penalties.
A total of 222 motorcycles, 10 utility vans, two jeepneys, two buses and one sedan were offered for bidding.
The event drew the committee’s largest-ever turnout of participants, marking a milestone for LTO-6.
Unsold lots will be re-auctioned on July 24, 2025, at the same MVIC venue after the required public notice and republication.
LTO-6 Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan II and Assistant Regional Director Jeck D. Conlu welcomed the results, saying the proceeds will boost government revenue and support public services.
