The Land Transportation Office–Region VI (LTO-6) emerged as the top-performing regional office nationwide in the implementation of “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos! Pasko 2025,” outperforming other regions in enforcement and inspection efforts during the holiday travel period.
As the top regional office, LTO-6 inspected a total of 13,659 vehicles from Dec. 20, 2025, to Jan. 4, 2026.
During the period, LTO-6 conducted intensified inspections to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic laws and regulations throughout the holidays.
LTO-6 Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan announced the achievement during the flag-raising ceremony on Jan. 5.
He attributed the milestone to the relentless efforts of deputized personnel and law enforcers from the Regional Law Enforcement Service, led by Relin Reyes.
Geduspan said the figures underscored a core principle of public service.
“We are public servants, and we are expected to deliver service beyond what is expected of us,” Geduspan told LTO-6 employees.
He added that the numbers spoke for themselves.
Of the 13,659 vehicles inspected, nearly 200 failed inspection, while about 194 Temporary Operator’s Permits were issued for various violations.
Public utility vehicles were placed under particularly strict scrutiny, with inspectors focusing on roadworthiness to prevent breakdowns and potential accidents along busy routes.
Under the nationwide directive of the LTO Chief, Transportation Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, the operation combined firm enforcement with a “heart-of-service” approach.
Across the region, LTO public assistance desks served as a lifeline for travelers, providing real-time support to commuters and transport operators during the holiday rush.
