LSIs not allowed to return to 4 LGUs

BACOLOD City – The Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF)-6 granted the suspension of the repatriation of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) in the cities of Himamaylan and Victorias, and municipalities of Calatrava and Cauayan in Negros Occidental.
Based on Resolution No. 87, the 14-day moratorium was approved in Himamaylan, Victorias, and Calatrava from December 21, 2020 to January 3, 2021.
The three local government units (LGUs) sent letters to the RIATF, citing the need for a thorough disinfection and preparation of quarantine facilities for new batch of returning residents, as well as to give adequate time for frontliners to rest.
Also included in the letter-request of Himamaylan LGU was the suspension on the repatriation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs), while Calatrava LGU also included the temporary suspension on the arrival of OFWs.
The RIATF also approved the suspension on the arrival of LSIs in Cauayan from December 20, 2020 to January 3, 2021.
The municipal government cited in their letter to the RIATF the need to facilitate the disinfection, repair, and maintenance of quarantine facilities.
