ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two lovers were arrested Saturday afternoon in a drug buy bust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET), Capiz Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU) and Pontevedra Municipa Police Station at Poblacion Ilaya in Pontevedra, Capiz.
Police identified the suspects as Jacquelyn Bornales of Brgy. Banica, and George Albaran, 45, of Brgy. Milibili, both in Roxas City.
Recovered from the suspects were 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 3 grams and valued at P20, 400; the P1,100 marked bill, and a motorcycle.
Police said the Bornales and Albaran were about to attend a birthday party when police operatives arrested them.
Police reports said that Albaran was tagged in a killing incident at Brgy. Milibili sometime in 2018.
The two strongly denied they were engaged in the illegal drug trade. They also denied owning the seized items and accused the operatives of “planting” the alleged illegal drugs.
Bornales and Albaran are detained at Pontevedra police station and will be charged for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
