Love triangle ends in fatal stabbing in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY — A 34-year-old man who was recently released from jail for a drug offense was stabbed dead in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, on Tuesday, September 23, in what police suspect was a love triangle-related killing.
The victim, identified only as “Paul,” was a resident of Barangay Alijis.
Police Lt. Ildefonso Leonardo, deputy commander of Police Station 8, said the victim had accompanied his 24-year-old live-in partner to the area to borrow money from her aunt.
While they were in Purok Mars, they were spotted by a man identified only as “Parcon,” who confronted the victim.
The confrontation escalated into an argument, and the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife before fleeing the scene.
Paul was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities said the murder weapon was not recovered.
Leonardo said the victim had been previously jailed for a drug-related offense in a locality in Negros Occidental.
Based on the account of the victim’s partner, the suspect allegedly had an affair with her while the victim was incarcerated.
A pursuit operation is ongoing for the arrest of the suspect.
