A man accused of sexually molesting his granddaughter was arrested Monday morning in Dumangas, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspect as Epifanio Naligo, 40, of Barangay Batuan, Dueñas, but is temporarily residing at Barangay Cali, Dumangas.
Members of Dumangas Municipal Police Station, together with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 and Regional Maritime Group, collared the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for violation of Sec. 5(b) of RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) docketed as Criminal Case No. 21-9962.

Bail bond for his temporary freedom was fixed at P200,000.
The complaint alleged that as the victim was about to sleep on Oct. 6, 2019, Naligo touched her genitals and forcibly undressed here.
But the complainant resisted and later escaped.
She then sought help at her classmate’s house while the suspect fled after the incident.
Naligo is presently detained at Dumangas Municipal Police Station for proper disposition of his case.
