Localized lockdowns continue in Iloilo City

More localized lockdowns will be imposed as coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases continue to spike in Iloilo City.
The City COVID-19 task force announced on Sunday that four more barangays in the metro will be placed under selective lockdowns due to the surge of cases.
The affected barangays include Sinikway, Lapuz with 4 cases, surgical lockdown on 2 households; Mansaya, Lapuz with 4 cases surgical lockdown on 4 households; Barrio Obrero, Lapuz with 6 cases, lockdown on Zone 1; Tanza Bonifacio, City Proper with 9 cases, total lockdown on Zone 1 (2 cases), Zone 2 (5 cases), Zone 3 (1 case) and Zone 4 (1 case).
The task force recommended selective lockdowns on barangays which recorded four or more COVID-19 cases.
As of Sunday, a total of 615 households in the highly congested areas have been affected by localized lockdowns.
Meanwhile, the 2nd floor of the Iloilo City Hall building will be temporarily closed on Monday, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas announced on Sunday.
The mayor said transactions on all offices of the 2nd floor such as City Assessor’s Office, City Library, and City Health Office (CHO) will be temporarily suspended to give way for disinfection.
City Covid-19 Task Force spokesperson Jeck Conlu confirmed in radio interviews that an employee of the City Assessors Office and the CHO have tested positive for COVID-19. (ERS)
