Surgical lockdown was imposed in 14 barangays in Iloilo City which recorded a spike of Covid-19 cases in the past seven days.
Mayor Jerry Treñas ordered the Barangay Lockdown Order through Executive Order (E.O.) No. 78 on Thursday which mandated localized containment of selected areas in 14 barangays following the recommendation of the Iloilo City Covid-19 Team.
The lockdowns are effective September 2-5, 2021.
Among the 14 barangays which will be placed under surgical lockdown are Balabago, Jaro with 12 cases; Tabuc Suba, Jaro with four cases Quintin Salas, Jaro with five cases; Camalig, Jaro (3); MV Hechanova, Jaro (2); Cubay, Jaro (3); Balabago; and Cuartero with two cases.
In La Paz district, barangays Caingin and Baldoza (each with three cases) are also under surgical lockdown.
Also affected by the lockdown are Oñate De Leon, Mandurriao with three cases; PHHC Blk 17 Mandurriao (2); Taal, Molo (4); and Quezon Landheights, Arevalo (4).
Surgical lockdown will also take effect in the following areas:

*Daisy St., Alta Tierra Sudv., Brgy. Brgy. Balabago, Jaro
*Blk. 27, Lot 1, Ledesco, Village, Brgy. Balabago, Jaro

Under the surgical lockdown, curfew will be implemented from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Sale and consumption of liquor and gatherings of any kind of people not belonging to the same household will be prohibited.
Vulnerable sectors such as persons above 65 years old; persons below 18 years old; and those with co-morbidities shall always stay at home, except when accessing basic goods and services.
Residents are highly encouraged to stay at home and “refrain from unnecessary travel” until the testing and sanitation process is done. (ERS)
