BACOLOD City – Expect a showdown between two major political parties in Negros Occidental – Love Negros Team (LNT) and the United Negros Alliance (UNegA) – during the election of the Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL)-Negros Occidental chapter today, Sept 5, 2019.
LNT headed by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and former 3rd district congressman Albee Benitez will field Silay City Councilor Ryan Gamboa.
Gamboa is a former news anchor of ABS CBN and the son of the late vice governor Roy Gamboa.
UNegA of Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer has Sagay City Councilor Arturo “Atoy” Marañon as its bet for the PCL prexy.
Marañon is the son of former Negros Occidental governor and former UnegA chairman Alfredo Marañon Jr.
The winner of the race will sit in the provincial board as ex-officio member.
But Gamboa told Daily Guardian that both camps have a common candidate for vice president, La Carlota councilor Julius Asistio.
Assistio is the son for 4th district Congresswoman Yoyette Ferrer.
