ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two live-in partners were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation Saturday evening at Barangay Dulangan, Pilar, Capiz.
Police identified the suspects as Sunny Bonsato, 48, of said village, and Mahalia Palangre, 40, of Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.
Recovered from the partners were 5 sachets of suspected shabu, the P1,500 marked money, a purse, a sling bag, and a caliber .38 revolver loaded with live ammunition.
According to the police, the suspected shabu weighed 15 grams and was valued at P102,000.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Capiz Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Pilar, Pontevedra and President Roxas PNP and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Capiz.
Bonsato and Palangre are in the custody of Pilar PNP.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10951 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) will be filed against them today, July 31, before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
