Live-in couple arrested for drugs, gun possession

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A live-in couple is facing charges for illegal drug possession and illegal gun ownership following their arrest in a recent buy-bust operation.
Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, were filed against Ferdinand Baticados, 53, of Barangay Bailan, Pontevedra, Capiz, and his live-in partner, identified as “alias Lyn,” of Barangay Culasi, Roxas City.
The charges were submitted to the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office on Monday, Sept. 23.
The couple was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bailan, Pontevedra, Capiz, on Sept. 20, 2024.
Recovered from the suspects were three sachets of suspected illegal drugs with an estimated weight of 3 grams and a street value of PHP13,600.
Police also recovered PHP1,500 in marked buy-bust money and a .48 caliber firearm with three live rounds of ammunition.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
