A lightning strike claimed the life of a 55-year-old woman afternoon of Dec 4, 2020 in Mina, Iloilo.
Eufronia Alipat of Barangay Janipaan East, Mina, died shortly after she was struck by lightning 4:40 p.m. of Friday.
Police reports said that the victim tried to feed her pigs amid the heavy rain.
She was walking through the rice paddy going through their backyard piggery when the incident happened.
Lieutenant Gina Fernandez, Mina police chief, said the victim suffered hematoma on different parts of her body.
Members of the Mina Emergency Responding Team (MEART) rushed her to the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town, but she was declared dead at 4:52 p.m.
