ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Eight persons here have died due to leptospirosis.
Based on the Provincial Notifiable Disease Case Bulletin Week # 47 of the Capiz Provincial Hospital Health Office (PHO), the province has recorded 45 leptospirosis cases from January to November 2023.
Data also indicated that the cases increased by 9.76 percent compared to 2022 with 41 cases.
Leptospirosis is spread through the urine of rats and other animals.
The PHO reminded the public that they can contract leptospirosis by wading in water contaminated with rodent urine.
