The LEPRECHAUNS x TUNESQUAD basketball league officially began its second conference of the year on July 27, 2025, at the Hacienda Verde gym in Pavia, Iloilo.
Nearly two months since the conclusion of its first conference, the upcoming hoops league based in Iloilo City immediately kicked off its second installment of 2025 to cater to more teams willing to join the tournament.
10 teams officially committed to vie for this conference’s championship title and just like the past format, these competing squads will be divided into two brackets.
Out of the 10 competing teams, two squads will be joining the league for the first time, the PRBC RS Bar & Resto and the Jinyi X Hteam.
A total of five games graced the opening ceremonies of the LEPRECHAUNS x TUNESQUAD league which treated the Ilonggo basketball fans last Sunday.
“Salamat gd sa tanan nga teams nga bisan Sunday, nag attend gd opening kag nag hampang sa aton five-game schedule sa Hacienda Vierde,” said Mr. Latter Taasan, the league’s acting commissioner in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.
For the first game of the opening day, team Dakada X Nissan edged Jarex, 93-84, with Justine Bautista leading the way after an all-around efficient performance.
During the next matchup, the defending champions, team HB Blocks X OG Wellness, kicked off their back-to-back campaign with a convincing win over RS Bar & Resto, 124-88.
Edward Alimen didn’t miss a step and picked up where he left off after dominating the paint for HB Blocks as he wrapped up their first win of the conference with 18 points.
The third game was a repeat of the previous one as another lopsided affair was brought by team Filipino Homes against Hteam, 111-89.
The same fate was received by Digitech and ODM, as teams Draft Master and Bluechips took them down by a double-digit margin, respectively.
“Damo pa games and we are hoping man nga indi na mag ulan gd todo para indi ma apektuhan byahe sang players ta sa venue and pra safe man kita tanan. Godbless us all,” added Taasan.
Completing the league’s managing committee for this conference are Harold Demasiado, Joebs Garcia, JL Bautista, Patrick Huyan, Wilhem Puljanan, Glenn Jimenea, and Noli Jimenez.
