Lemery drug bust nets PHP 816K shabu

A police anti-illegal drug operation in Lemery, Iloilo, led to the arrest of a jobless man on the afternoon of Nov. 29.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Poloy, 35, of Barangay Poblacion North West Zone, Lemery.
Members of the Lemery Municipal Police Station arrested the suspect in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Velasco, Lemery.
Captain John Robles, Lemery police chief, said 120 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 816,000 were seized from the suspect.
Robles said the operation was launched following tips from concerned citizens in Lemery town.

After a month of validation, operatives confirmed the suspect’s involvement in illegal drug activities. He allegedly sourced his illegal drugs from Iloilo City and distributed them within Lemery.
Poloy is currently in police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
