BACOLOD City – Four unidentified armed men on two motorcycles attacked a lawyer’s house at Barangay 2, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental Tuesday night.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Necerato Sabando, city police chief, said the perpetrators arrived in front of the house of Atty. Elmer Balbin around 11:30 p.m.
Two of them disembarked from their motorcycles and fired their guns at the lawyer’s residence. The perpetrators, who were all wearing bonnets and jackets, then fled.
Police recovered from the scene 11 casings of .40-caliber ammunition and another cartridge case of 12-gauge shotgun.
Sabando said no injuries were reported since nobody was inside the house when the incident happened. The windows, however, were damaged.
Sabando said the 60-year-old lawyer has not reported any threat to the police.
He said they have yet to establish the motive as they are still checking if the incident was work-related or has something to do with his personal life.
Investigation is ongoing.
