BACOLOD City – Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya said that he has refiled the bill dividing this city into two congressional districts.
Gasataya urged the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod to issue a resolution of support for House Bill 297.
Gasataya, who first filed the bill in 2019, said he refiled HB 297 last July 1, 2022.
He said the bill he filed in 2019 “has not moved” in Congress because the Sanggunian Panlungsod then did not pass a resolution supporting the measure.
The bill is proposing two legislative districts with Barangays 1 to 31, 33, 41, Alangilan, Banago, Bata, Estefania, Granada, Mandalagan, Monte Vista, Villamonte and Vista Alegre constituting the First Legislative District.
The Second Legislative will be comprised of Barangays 32, 34-40, Alijis, Cabug, Felisa, Handumanan, Mansilingan, Pahanocoy, Punta Taytay, Singcang, Sum-ag. Taculing and Tangub.
