A 20-year-old commercial sex worker was arrested in a police anti-illegal drugs operation Monday evening in Arevalo, Iloilo City.
Anne Palomita, a resident of Barangay San Pedro, Jaro district, was nabbed inside a lodging house at Barangay Sto. Niño Norte, Arevalo after she allegedly handed a sachet of suspected shabu worth P2,100 to a police undercover agent.
Captain Chen Tañagras, Arevalo police chief, said Palomita had been on their radar a few weeks back following the arrest of other suspected drug peddlers.
She was placed under monitoring two weeks ago.
Palomita yielded three more sachets of suspected shabu after her arrest.

Palomita is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Three days ago, another commercial sex worker was also arrested in Calinog, Iloilo.
Jessa Agudes, 22, of Barangay Gama Grande, Calinong, was arrested after selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P2,100.
