LANDBANK gives PHP 12.6 million to storm-hit LGUs

MANILA — LANDBANK has extended PHP 12.6 million in financial assistance and relief support to local government units in Central Luzon affected by Typhoon Neneng and the enhanced southwest monsoon, or habagat.
The assistance, partly funded by voluntary cash donations from LANDBANK employees nationwide, is intended to support immediate relief operations and community recovery efforts.
Of the total, PHP 11.6 million was provided as cash assistance to 46 provincial, city, and municipal governments across Bataan, Bulacan, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, and Pampanga.
Most of the provinces were placed under a state of calamity after widespread flooding affected nearly 2 million families, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted livelihoods.
The remaining PHP 1 million was allocated for relief operations in Pampanga, with support from voluntary cash donations from LANDBANK employees nationwide.
Employees contributed the equivalent of at least one hour of their salary to the relief effort.
LANDBANK employees also helped pack and distribute 2,000 grocery packs to flood-affected families in Apalit, Santo Tomas, and Minalin in Pampanga.
“As communities recover from the effects of Typhoon Neneng and the enhanced southwest monsoon, LANDBANK remains ready to provide timely and meaningful assistance to our kababayans. Together with local governments, we are helping address urgent needs, restore essential services, and support families as they rebuild their lives,” said LANDBANK President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz.
Disaster support reaches PHP 16.225 million
The latest assistance brings LANDBANK’s total support for disaster-affected LGUs and communities to PHP 16.225 million in 2026.
The total includes PHP 3.625 million previously extended in response to Typhoon Basyang and the Mindanao earthquake.
In 2025, LANDBANK provided PHP 15.3 million for disaster response through the bank’s corporate social responsibility initiatives and its Volunteerific Program, which encourages employee participation.

LANDBANK, a government-owned bank, provides financing and other financial services to local governments, farmers, fishers, businesses, and other sectors while also carrying out development and financial inclusion programs.
Recovery loans available to affected sectors
For longer-term recovery, the LANDBANK Community Assistance and REintegration Support Plus, or CARES+, Lending Program provides financing to help disaster-affected sectors resume operations, recover, and rebuild.
Eligible borrowers include micro, small, and medium enterprises; cooperatives; corporations; and electric distribution utilities.
LANDBANK also offers its “EasyCash for Emergencies” feature to credit cardholders, allowing them to convert available credit limits into cash payable in installments.
The bank’s Electronic Salary Loan, or eSL, also provides government employees and payroll account holders access to salary and emergency loans through employer endorsement or branch application.
Through financial assistance, employee-led relief operations, and recovery financing, LANDBANK said it continues to support families, businesses, and local governments rebuilding after disasters.
