The Municipality of Lambunao launched its One Town, One Product Hub and turned over new equipment for the Shared Service Facility Lambunao Garments project, strengthening support for micro, small, and medium enterprises in the town.
The initiative, supported by the Department of Trade and Industry Iloilo Provincial Office, aims to improve market access, production capacity, and competitiveness among local entrepreneurs.
OTOP is a government program that helps communities develop and promote products and services rooted in local culture, resources, creativity, and competitive advantage.
The OTOP Philippines Hub serves as a retail and market access platform where locally developed products can be showcased to buyers, tourists, and the broader consumer market.
The Shared Service Facilities program helps MSMEs improve productivity and competitiveness by giving them access to equipment, machinery, tools, and technology under a shared system.
DTI Iloilo said programs such as OTOP and SSF support entrepreneurs through market access, capacity-building, and technology assistance to improve product quality and enterprise growth.
Officer in charge Provincial Director Ma. Dorita Chavez led the launch, along with Jonathan Tejida, SSF focal person and officer in charge division chief, and Florenda Abian, OTOP Hub focal person and senior trade industry development specialist.
Trade and Industry Development Specialists Shayne Tagunao and Lakambini Regalado, and Negosyo Center Business Counselor Crystal Jane Feril also joined the event.
Their participation highlighted DTI Iloilo’s continued support for MSME development programs across the province.
The OTOP Hub will serve as a centralized venue for showcasing and promoting Lambunao-made products to a wider market.
The newly turned-over equipment is expected to improve production efficiency and output in Lambunao’s garment sector under the SSF program.
Local officials representing Mayor Reynor Gonzales also expressed support for the initiative.
They included Senior Administrative Assistant Flordelyn Amon, Vice Mayor Arvin Losaria, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Head Ma. Arlene Lavilla, Sangguniang Bayan members, and department heads.
Sixteen MSMEs showcased their products during the launch, highlighting the creativity and resilience of Lambunao entrepreneurs.
The OTOP Hub, located on the ground floor of Lambunao Municipal Hall, is now open to the public.
The local government and DTI Iloilo encouraged residents and visitors to support proudly local products sold through the hub.
