Lakas-CMD-Liberal coalition bets file COCs

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Candidates of the Lakas-CMD-Liberal Party (LP) coalition here filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) at Robinsons Place Roxas Friday, the last day of the filing.
Leading Lakas-CMD-LP slate are re-electionist Mayor Ronnie Dadivas and his running-mate, Culasi Punong Barangay Teresa Hontiveros-Almalbis.
The city council slate includes Dok Pip Acepcion, Jaime Altavas, incumbent City Councilors John Paul Arcenas, Roberto “Bobby” Ignacio, Paul Ivan Baticados, and Atty. Garry Potato; Alvin Balgos Tiangco, former city councilor Herbert “Koks” Chu, Baybay Punong Barangay Rey Magallanes, and businessman Bordoy “Bords” Viterbo.
Meanwhile, Capiz Second District Cong. Fredenil Castro will run for governor of Capiz against incumbent Gov. Esteban Evan Nonoy Contreras of the PDP-Laban.
First district Rep. Emmanuel Billones Sr. of LP filed for re-election.
His counterpart in the second district, Jane Castro, seeks to replace her husband Fredenil.
WITHDRAWAL
Meanwhile, the candidate of PDP-Laban for first district congressman withdrew from the race Friday afternoon.
Former governor Jose Borda, who filed his COC last October 6, was replaced by former governor and now Pontevedra Mayor Esteban Dodoy Contreras.
