A 22-year-old woman was arrested afternoon of October 13 at Estancia, Iloilo.
Perlita Villariz of Barangay Tacbuyan, Estancia, was collared after an arrest warrant was issued against her for allegedly assaulting a minor last March 2020.
Police Staff Sergeant Dan Jerald Allanic, Estancia police investigator, said the complainant was 17 years old when the incident happened.
She accused Villariz of throwing invectives at her and physically hurting her.
Villariz was charged for the crime of serious slander by deed docketed as Criminal Case No. 2020-9584.
Judge Oscar Leo Billena of the Regional Trial Court Branch 66, Barotac Viejo, issued the arrest warrant and set the bail for her provisional liberty at P18,000.
While she was just charged for a minor offense, Villariz was arrested by joint elements of the Estancia Police Station, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Iloilo, PNP Regional Maritime Unit, the Regional Intelligence Division 6, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Branch.
The suspect is now detained at Estancia Police Station for proper disposition of her case.
