Laborer shot dead by co-worker in Capiz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A laborer from Tapaz, Capiz was allegedly shot dead by his co-worker on the evening of July 31 in Barangay Matagnop, Dao, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as alias James, of legal age, single, and a resident of Barangay Lahog, Tapaz.
According to reports, police received a call for assistance regarding a shooting incident inside a compound in the area.
PCMS Romeo Corcino Jr. and a police investigator responded but could not immediately enter the premises due to a lack of permission from the property owner.
A resident told police that while the compound owner was asleep, his two workers got into a verbal altercation that escalated into a shooting.
Investigators said James was shot in the right jaw and was rushed to Senator Gerardo Roxas Memorial Hospital in Dao, where Dr. Tonee Ivan C. Golez declared him dead on arrival due to hypovolemic shock and cranio-mandibular injury.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive and identify the suspect.
