Laborer killed by brother after drunken argument in Isabela

BACOLOD CITY – A 38-year-old laborer was fatally stabbed by his older brother following a drunken argument in Sitio Pasto, Barangay Camp Clark, Isabela, Negros Occidental, late Wednesday night.

Police Maj. Joseph Partidas, chief of the Isabela Municipal Police Station, said the victim, identified only as “Angelo,” and his 42-year-old brother, “War,” had attended a birthday party hosted by a neighbor who is a barangay tanod.

During the drinking session, a heated argument broke out between the two brothers.

They later left the party and walked home together.

While on their way, Angelo allegedly began playfully trying to pin down his older brother.

Partidas said War initially told his brother to stop, but when he persisted, the suspect lost his temper and drew a bladed weapon.

Angelo suffered two stab wounds to the chest and lower torso and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Partidas said the brothers reportedly had a good relationship, and the incident likely escalated due to intoxication.

He added that the suspect remains at large.

The victim’s family has yet to decide whether to file formal charges.
