ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 58-year-old laborer was hacked to death by his drinking buddy Wednesday night at Sitio Bato in Barangay Goce, President Roxas, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Gregorio Bating Jr. of said place.
Investigation by the President Roxas Municipal Police Station indicated that Rechie Bating, 51, younger sister of Bating, was informed by one Efren Ada of her older brother’s death.
The victim was last seen alive in a drinking binge at the house of suspect Estelito Garcia Jr. also in Goce village.
The victim succumbed to hack wounds on the back of his neck.
According to Rechie, her brother and the suspect had no previous spat that may have triggered the incident.
Police have launched a manhunt operation against the suspect who hurriedly left.
