ROXAS CITY, Capiz – An early morning shooting on March 26 claimed the life of a 32-year-old laborer at Cadimahan Bridge in Barangay Baybay, Roxas City.
The Roxas City Police named the victim as Aldrin Rico, also known as “Jboy,” from Legaspi Ilawod, Barangay V.
Authorities were alerted to the shooting around 12:30 am.
Witness Edwin Javellan reported seeing a man on the bridge with gunshot wounds.
Rico was rushed to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 1:45 am.
Investigators at the scene found 8 spent cartridge cases, a .45 caliber bullet, and fragments of a fired bullet.
A hot pursuit operation for the assailant is underway as the police continue their investigation.
