ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A laborer was charged Monday, April 7, for illegal drug possession following his arrest in a buy-bust operation last Friday afternoon, April 4, in Panay, Capiz.
Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, were filed against Fernan Billones, also known as Nonoy, 26, of Barangay Bato, Roxas City.
He was arrested in Barangay Tanza Norte during a buy-bust operation conducted by personnel from the Capiz Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Panay MPS, Maayon MPS, and Panitan MPS.
According to PCpt. Ronald Tun-ogan, Panay MPS chief, the suspect tested positive for illegal drug use during a drug test.
Recovered from him were three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1 gram with a street value of PHP6,800, PHP300 in buy-bust money, a Rusi motorcycle, a cellphone, and other non-drug items.
The suspect remains in the custody of the Panay Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
