ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A laborer was arrested late Thursday, May 28, for allegedly carrying an unlicensed firearm and sachets of suspected shabu in Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas, Capiz.
The President Roxas Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as Tristan Alberto, 25, alias Tantan, a resident of the barangay.
Police said Alberto was arrested around 11:09 p.m. after a concerned citizen reported seeing him carrying a firearm.
Responding officers allegedly caught Alberto carrying a .38-caliber revolver with two rounds of live ammunition.
Authorities also recovered from him three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 4 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 27,200.
Alberto is under the custody of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station.
Police are preparing charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
