ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A laborer tagged as a street-level individual was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by police Tuesday evening, May 19, in Barangay Tapulang, Maayon, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Jigger,” 54, of the said barangay.
Recovered from the suspect were a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu used as the buy-bust item, five more grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 34,000, and PHP 1,000 buy-bust money.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Capiz Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit and the cluster Station Drug Enforcement Team from the Maayon, Panay, and Panitan police stations around 10:15 p.m. in front of the suspect’s house in Barangay Tapulang.
The suspect is under the custody of the Maayon Municipal Police Station for proper disposition, while charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against him.
