Laborer accused of rape arrested in Aklan

A laborer accused of rape was arrested on the evening of Feb. 27 in New Washington, Aklan.

Alias Ren, 39, a resident of Kalibo, Aklan, was nabbed at Sector 2, Barangay Mabilo, New Washington.

Personnel of the New Washington Municipal Police Station, together with the Aklan Maritime Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 6 and the Aklan Police Provincial Office Trackers Team, arrested the suspect by virtue of a warrant for rape under Article 266-A, paragraph 1, in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 8353.

The warrant was issued by Branch 3, 6th Judicial Region Regional Trial Court, Kalibo, Aklan, on Feb. 24, 2026. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

The suspect is Aklan’s No. 2 most wanted person.

Ren is presently under the custody of the New Washington Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to turnover to the court concerned.
