La Castellana police get vehicles, lot for new station

BACOLOD City – Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan of La Castellana, Negros Occidental turned over Tuesday three vehicles and signed the deed of donation for the lot that will be home to the town’s new police station.

Joining Mangilimutan during the event were Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 director Brig. Gen. Rodolfo Miranda and Negros Occidental police provincial director Col. Romy Palgue.

The 1,000-square meter lot for the police station was by the Gonzaga family and was turned over to the local government through a deed of donation to the local PNP.

The lot is located at the Social Activity Center site where the Bureau of Fire building and the Rescue and Command center will also be established.

Miranda said lots for police stations should be owned by the concerned PNP unit.

Mangilimutan said being a former policewoman herself, she knows the cramped situation of the municipal police station.

The vehicles included 3 motorcycles, two pick-up trucks, and a rescue vehicle with an estimated cost of P3 million.

Mangilimutan said the local government should provide the police’s needs so they can perform well.
