BACOLOD City – After four years of hiding, the fourth most wanted person of La Carlota City Police Station in Negros Occidental was arrested at Barangay Progress, Biri, Northern Samar last Thursday.
Police identified the suspect as Pancho Satona, 40, of Barangay San Miguel, La Carlota City.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, said that Satona was the subject of an arrest warrant for rape (with no bail recommended) issued by Assisting Judge Mila Yap-Camiso of Regional Trial Court Branch 63 in La Carlota City on July 12, 2017.
Guadalupe said the suspect was also listed in Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular No. 2021-022 dated February 19, 2021, with a reward amounting to P130,000 for his immediate arrest.
Guadalupe said the suspect had no relatives and family in northern Samar, and just probably went there to hide after he learned that authorities were looking for him.
Guadalupe said the suspect will be transported to La Carlota for custody. He will also be quarantined for 14 days there.
