The Iloilo Kisela Knights regained their game dominance and swept their way during the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) season II “Wesley So Cup Conference” Day 10.
Fresh off a split outing last PCAP Day 9, the Kisela Knights were able to crush the Quezon City Simba’s Tribe, 18-3, and the Pasig City King Pirates, 15.5-5.5.
After two outings, the Kisela Knights were able to get back to their usual game board mastery and never trailed in both the Blitz and Rapid categories.
Iloilo held their lead against Quezon right from the get-go after notching wins in six of the seven playing boards in the Blitz.
The massacre continued up to the Rapid category when GM Hovhannes Gabuzya, NM John Michael Silvederio, and Fiona Guirhem went flawless to give Iloilo an 18-3 lead in the category.
Iloilo replicated what they did to Quezon and just stomped over Pasig with no mercy. The momentum they had was carried over and wrapped up their inter-division showdown.
The win helped maintain their third place in the Southern division behind powerhouses Cordova and Camarines but leads the Division in points with 275.
