BACOLOD City – Policemen are looking for the perpetrators behind a robbery incident in a shopping mall in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Based on initial investigation, three unidentified persons allegedly entered the mall by boring a hole in the wall of the grocery area. The wall is located beside a vacant lot.
The suspects then allegedly cut the roll-up door connecting the grocery store to the tenant kiosks’ area.
Then they went to one kiosk, opened the cabinets, and removed the vault.
They brought the vault near the restroom and forcibly opened it. They then took an undetermined amount of jewelry and cash, according to the police.
Police recovered from the scene a pair of construction gloves, a bonnet, and a blue long sleeves shirt.
Captain Judesses Catalogo, public information officer of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), said that inventory of the stolen items is ongoing.
He also said that they are checking if there are other kiosks affected by the incident.
