ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 5-year-old boy with disability drowned to his death Friday morning after he accidentally fell from a fishing boat docked at the Libas Fishing Port in Brgy. Libas here.
According to Rodem Angas, Assistant Administrative Officer of Libas Fishing Port, the boy was eating food on the fishing boat when he accidentally fell.
One of the crew members of the fishing boat jumped into the water to rescue the boy.
Agnas said that it took about five minutes before the boy was retrieved from the water.
First aid was applied on the boy before he was taken to the hospital where he died minutes later.
Meanwhile, Agnas advised residents near the fishing port to prohibit children from playing on fishing boats docked at the port.
He also asked the parents to always monitor their children to prevent the same incident from happening.
