Former Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws team captain and Gilas Pilipinas cadet Ken Tuffin continues to grow to his full potential in the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZ-NBL).
Tuffin and the Wellington Saints continued to roll and steamed past Southland, 105-73, to improve their record to an undefeated 3-0 NZ-NBL record.
Wellington went off and shot the lights out since the opening tip and did not let Southland create any sort of momentum to claw back into the game.
Former La Salle gunner Taane Samuel led the Wellington demolition job after scoring 26 huge points on four rebounds and two assists.
Meanwhile, Tuffin was the main spark off the bench after draining three triples and ended up scoring nine points to become the highest-pointer on the Wellington bench.
Tuffin also became vital to Wellington’s wing defense and communicated well during pick-and-roll defense situations with teammate Dione Prewster.
The Saints will be looking to extend their winning streak to four against the tough and defensive-minded Nelson Giants on May 15.
