“Machine Gun” Kelly Williams is back to rattle some rims.
After announcing that he will be retiring from the PBA, the high-flying veteran forward was quick to change his decision following the return of his former head coach Chot Reyes with the TNT Tropang Giga.
“We would like to welcome Kelly back to TNT Tropang GIGA. His leadership and experience will help us achieve success in the coming conference,” said TNT team manager Gabby Cui.
Just a few months ago, everyone was shocked when Williams announced he is leaving the PBA and was not a part of the team during the bubble.
“Some things are out of your control, and there’s a lot of things and intricacies within the business that sometimes you just got to deal with the best way you can. So I think that weighed a lot for my decision,” said Williams.
However, now that a reunion of TNT’s golden age is in the making, Williams did not think twice and offered his services again under former coach Reyes and former teammate Ranidel de Ocampo who is now the assistant coach of the squad.
Full details of Williams’ two-year contract is yet to be disclosed but TNT team governor Ricky Vargas already announced, “Welcome back Kelly, great to have you back.”
